The Fire Fighter and the Foam: A Commentary on the AFFF Spill in Brunswick, Maine

The Fire Fighter and the Foam is an acrylic and watercolor painting done in partnership with the Friends of Casco Bay. It is a reflection of the apocalyptic feelings that permeated the residential area that was affected by the 2024 AFFF (Aqueous Film-Forming-Foam) spill at Brunswick Landing.

The art and the artist were featured in the Friends of Casco Bay’s online seminar called Imagining a Healthy Future for Casco Bay: A Student Perspective.

Tour Card Vignettes: A Collaboration with the Maine Maritime Museum

This project entailed creating illustrative character designs of historical figures who worked at the Percy & Small Shipyard where the Maine Maritime Museum now resides. Each were designed using information, locations, and artifacts provided by the museum.

Next vignette portraits were made as illustrative designs for tour cards meant to supplement tours of the museum’s permanent shipyard exhibit.

Thank you to Sarah Timm for helming this projects and Luke Gates-Milardo for taking over the project in Timm’s stead.
